Now accepting clients virtually.

Hello!

I am Yulai Alvarez-Rodriguez, and I am a proud Boricua. Spanish was my first language. I come from an Army family and was fortunate to find the love of my life at 19, marrying him at 21 before he joined the Army. We have four beautiful children, two of whom have autism, speech deficiencies, and ADHD. My children mean everything to me. I enjoy food, traveling, and watching romantic comedies.

Writing is my passion, and I use it for reflection, developing therapeutic techniques, and regulating my own emotions. I've faced my share of adversities, and I'm not afraid to share my fears, internal battles with the unknown, the loss of a child, or my postpartum depression. Embracing these experiences has allowed me to fully embrace my authenticity as a Latina and woman of color. We all struggle with internal battles and face challenges, but there is power in confronting them head-on.

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology and my first graduate degree in Human Services Counseling. Additionally, I hold a graduate certification in Military Resilience and am currently in my last year of my second graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.

Life is like a puzzle, trying to piece it all together. Some parts are easier than others, and some pieces just don't seem to fit, but once it's complete... it feels worth it!

For me, therapy goes beyond just a back-and-forth dialogue about your experiences. It should be impactful, a learning experience. I'm here to walk alongside you on this journey we call life, helping you navigate not only the difficult aspects but also exploring your true self.

Each client is unique and requires different things. While my therapeutic approach is solution-focused, I meet my clients where they are and tailor our work to their individual needs. We are all replenishing our energy. Sometimes the burden becomes too heavy, and we need support, someone on our side - that's what I am here for.

I'll be here to challenge, guide, and lift you up. I'll catch you when you fall. This is more than just a job to me; I am passionate about your well-being. If I have to text you to hold you accountable, I will. I am your therapist, and I can't wait to walk alongside you on your journey!
